I’m happy to announce that I’m contributing as an Expert Patient to a depression site that is part of the Health Central network, my-depression.com. Please check it out. I’ve written several articles and am keeping a blog with thoughts about various depression-related topics. I’ll be writing about one or two articles and blog entries a week. I’m happy to be getting back into writing about depression. I’ve definitely missed it.

I just bought the coolest knitting pattern for a hat in the shape of a Christmas tree.
I finished the scarf for Lawrence’s speech therapist, Lynne, tothank her for helping him the past year. I used Berroco’s Quest in Platinum and Louisa Harding Sari Ribbon in #02. I knitted the two together on each end, and the middle was just the Berroco Quest. I used a stockinette stitch on size 17 needles. To prevent the edges from curling too much, especially since blocking would probably be a bad idea with the fuzziness of the Quest, I used K1, P1 on the beginning of each row and P1, K1 on the end of each row.
It was very hard to capture the color of the Berroco properly in the photo – it’s actually a metallic olive.
I recently finished a nice warm pair of knitted gauntlets. I modified a pattern from Exquisite Little Knits : Knitting with Luxurious Specialty Yarns, a book I absolutely love. I used Plymouth’s Baby Alpaca Grande in #3317 and Gedifra’s Poesie color #2017 (1 skein of each). The Baby Alpaca Grande is very soft, but knits up somewhat stiffly. I modified the pattern by knitting the yarns together instead of alternating colors, and I made the gauntlets shorter. The ribbing holds them on snugly.
I’ve decided to scale back my natural bath and body business by closing my website store and just keeping my eBay store open. I don’t feel like I have enough time for my family and Wing of Madness. Plus, I just got a consulting job part-time which I really want to do justice to. More on that soon.
