Knitting for moving targets

You can’t do it. That’s what I’ve decided. I started knitting a cardigan for Lawrence a few months ago in denim yarn. He’s almost 4, but he’s tall, so I aimed for size 6-8. I finished the back and started one side and realized it’s going to be too short before I even finish it. And that would be by madly working on it day and night.

So all those teeny, tiny (at least in my mind) stitches were for naught. I’m not going to give up on knitting him a sweater, though. I’m going to make him a sweater with a truck on it. If I don’t make him one before he grows out of the truck love stage he’ll never forgive me. So I’ll aim for size 8 or 9 and make sure it requires a needle size no smaller than 8.

Crap. I don’t know if I can bring myself to rip the other one out, but there probably aren’t going to be any more little ones in the family.
