Happy Birthday to me!
Forty-four years ago today I was born Deborah Eve Frisch in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Greenwich Village. I suppose that those details come to mind because I’m putting the family history into Family Tree Maker. After a few hours of entering details about date of birth, place of birth, etc., you kind of get into the habit of thinking that way.
Anyway, it has been a nice birthday weekend. My sister-in-law Jeanine’s birthday was yesterday, so the family got together for brunch at a restaurant in the city. I had some yummy eggs benedict with salmon. The more lemon-y the hollandaise sauce, the better I like it.
Here’s what I got for my birthday:
- From my sister Sarah and her family, a gift certificate to Berkeley Hort
- From my sister Thea and her partner Jeanine, the promise of a gift certificate to Berkeley Hort
- From my parents, two pairs of those awesome black stretch Ex Officio pants. You can be comfortable and look good at the same time.
- From George, my eternally romantic husband, I got flowers and chocolate. And, a month ago, my new computer.
I can’t wait for the day when Lawrence is old enough to give me homemade presents. I thought those were great even before I was a mother. I remember an ashtray I made for my mom when I was six or seven. Of course, she had given up smoking years before. But she kept the ashtray anyway.
