All parents know this look. It’s the look they have on their faces when they’re thinking of doing something that they’re not supposed to do, right?
I still don’t know what he was plotting.
(Preferably with a decaf mocha in hand)

That look reminds me of the story “The Acquisitive Chuckle” from “The Black Widower Mysteries” by Isaac Asimov.
