Large Shallow Felted Bowl with Smaller Opening

This was not the best color to use, as it’s a little too dark to see well, so I will probably redo it in a lighter color. I’ll also do one that is deeper. Right now, though, I’m working on a bowl with a ruffle.
Materials
Size 11 circular or double-pointed […]

Baby Alpaca Grande socks

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

These are the bedsocks that I knit for Lawrence’s teacher for Christmas. I used Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande in #2567 and used a pattern from the first issue of Knitscene, although I ribbed the cuffs. It’s a fairly basic sock pattern. I call them bedsocks because they’re so thick that they’re really best for keeping […]

Pink Fuzzy Felted Bowl

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

I’m discovering that felted bowls are great for using up novelty yarn that you bought because you loved it, but never found a practical use for. This one is one strand of Knitpicks Sierra in Wild Rose, knit together in two places with two strands of a fuzzy boucle JoAnn Sensations yarn that I think […]

Monday, November 6th, 2006

If you’re into handmade goods, either buying or selling, you have to check out Etsy.com, a site where crafters sell their goods.
The site itself is gorgeous and useful. You can shop for products in several different ways, including by color, by location of seller and by Time Machine, which lets you see all the listings […]

Knitted Felted Bowl

Saturday, November 4th, 2006

I’m working on a pattern for a felted bowl, which I plan to post here when it’s done.
I’m using Noro Kureyon color #74, just a single strand, on #13 needles (I tend to knit tightly). I started off with 75 stitches and will start decreasing after about another inch of stockinette.
